Medicinal and culinary plants

To heal and feed ourselves thanks to our companions the plants goes back certainly to the dawn of time. Our mountains are rich in these useful plants and its this ancestral knowledge that we wish to share with you. In this way you’ll better recognise the aconite, the digitalis but also arnica, St Johns wort and others less well known.

Remember to bring a note book and a pencil: we supply magnifying glasses, identification keys, flowers presses, floras and other books in our library.

PROGRAMME:

We will alternate theory and practive on the ground, taking into account the weather, these days will mainly take place outside, which doesn’t exclude a few moments indoors.

• Sunday: Welcome drink, dinner ,presentation of stay
• Monday: A fewt principles of botanical identification
• Tuesday: Not to poison yourself by knowing how to recognise the main culinary and medicinal plants
• Wednesday: Picking/preserving and preparing the plants
• Thursday: A little ethnobiology, from the time of our ancestors to today
• Friday: Preparing the family pharmacy – herbal teas, decoctions ant tinctures
• Saturday: Departure after breakfast
